Tillandsia's, Bromeliads, Orchids and Staghorn Ferns are just a few of the plants that need no soil
for their roots. Some of these plants don't even have roots. Curious about how they grow? Join us as we explore their native
environments, cultural requirements and the tremendous variety first hand. This
two hour workshop will be devoted to the practical information needed for creating unique miniature gardens. Learn the proper
technique for ‘planting' and display as we demonstrate branch and board mounting. We will also discuss propagation and
some tricks to make the culture of these unusual plants more successful. An assortment of plants will be available for purchase

Learn to choose suitable containers and plants along with some maintenance tricks to keep them looking
their best. Container gardening is ideally suited to creative expression and 'quick changes' that allow us endless opportunities
for experimenting with new and exciting plant combinations. In this workshop, you will learn how to keep your containers looking
their best through the growing season. Tips on trimming, fertilizing and replacing spent plants will be covered. We
will explore seasonal changes with demonstrations that include; planting tricks to fill bare spots, special plant maintainance
techniques, trimming, and ways to reduce watering needs. We will also discuss growing tomatoes and vegetables in pots. An
assortment of plant material will be available. You may elect to plant your own container for a fee of $55. This includes
a simple plant liner, potting soil and your choice of 6 plants.Requires advance registration through KCC. Class fee is $19,
