With the promise of warm weather, we all enjoy having flowers around the house. Container gardening
opens the door to a multitude of possibilities. It is ideally suited to creative expression and allows us an endless opportunity
for experimenting with new and exciting plant combinations.
This one hour workshop is being offered FREE at Acorn. Join us as we will take container
gardening to the next level by introducing unusual planting methods and creating containers of unusual materials.
Container plantings do not need to be static or routine, and in this workshop you will learn how
to turn the expected into the unusual. This class will focus on using non-traditional plant materials such as shrubbery, vegetables
and tropical plants in outdoor containers to create something truly unique.

(required). Seating is limited. You may also elect to plant your own container for a fee of $55. This includes a simple
plant liner, potting soil and your choice of 6 plants. Please specifiy with your registration if you would like a sun or shade
container.

tablelinens, napkin folding and creative centerpieces will be discussed. Explore the use of found objects to create a table
top theme.

Join us for a FREE

are easy enough for beginners and so unusual that they will elicite wonder from your friends and family.

Heat loving, desert
plants and Humidity loving tropicals. Can they be planted and grow together? No way, you say! This FREE workshop will explore
this conflict.
It is possible with
some extra care and planning. Learn how as we explore the polar opposite cultural requirements of Succulents, Ferns and Mosses
and how to successfully mix them for unique and exotic planter combinations.

Orchids for Beginners
Orchids
have gained in popularity in the last several years and for good reason. At a relatively low cost, these long-blooming exotic
plants provide weeks of pleasure. Having an orchid plant re-bloom is one of the great joys for any gardener.

Workshop
Programs are informal and are primarily held at our Retail Store on
South McMullen Drive in Kankakee. Occasionally, when larger crowds are scheduled, we will move
the Program to our private garden as pictured below.
Seating
is limited, so be certain to reserve a space for yourself and a friend.
