Tillandsia's,
Bromeliads, Orchids and Staghorn Ferns are just a few of the plants that need no soil for their roots. Some of these plants
don't even have roots. Curious about how they grow? Join us as we explore their native environments, cultural requirements
and tremendous variety first hand.
This one
hour workshop will be devoted to practical information for creating unique miniature container gardens. We will demonstrate
planting tricks to use unusual vessels as planting containers.
Learn the proper technique for ‘planting' and display as we demonstrate
branch and board mounting. We will discuss propagation and some tricks to make the culture of these unusual plants more successful.
One or two specimen plants mounted on a board or branch can be quite dramatic as part of a garden
collection.
Surprisingly
enough, Air plants are easy enough for beginners and unusual enough to elicit wonder from your friends. With exotic blooms
in bright colors, they make for a wonderful display.
